These annual regional (multi-deanery) meetings for parish youth ministers were published last summer in our office’s 2011-2012 Calendar of Programs and are listed here as a reminder in hopes that all parishes will be represented.  All meetings are from 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM.

Thursday, January 26, 2012 – Westbank Region (Westbank and Algiers-Plaquemines Deaneries) meeting at The Visitation of Our Lady in Marrero

Monday, January 30, 2012 – East Jefferson Deanery meeting at St. Benilde in Metairie

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 – New Orleans Eastbank Region (Cathedral, Uptown, Gentilly-City Park, and St. Bernard Deaneries) meeting at St. Raymond- St.Leo

Wednesday, February 1, 2012 – St. Charles- St. John Deanery meeting at Holy Family in Luling

Monday February 13, 2012 – Northshore Region (West and East St. Tammany Deaneries) meeting at Mary Queen of Peace in Mandeville

Retreat Reservations Open:

The CYO Office is now taking reservations for groups wishing to reserve dates and space at Camp Abbey for retreats.  Complete details about the facility, pricing, and reservation process is available by calling Courtney Jansen at the new camp office at 985-327-7240 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .   We hope that many parishes will consider Camp Abbey Retreat Center for their youth group and Confirmation retreats, and that our Catholic high schools will consider holding their class retreats there too.  The center is open to young adult groups, non-church functions, and more.  We also want to work with groups that may have financial constraints for their events.  

Construction Update:

The entire facility is operational and ready for your event.  Construction is underway on the extra meeting room,a project added to the original renovation. 

Fundraising:

Fundraising continues with several gifts of $5000 each from various individuals, and a generous donation of $25,000 which will provide naming rights to the infirmary building.  Please contact the CYO Office if you have interest in making a donation to the Camp Abbey Retreat Center construction fund.
